That Winter Wedding In Vermont

 Well the primary thing about choosing a dress to wear as a guest at a wedding is to not upstage the bride but to look stunning anyway! I'm just kidding but I love to wear dressy, sexy, short things.  Depending on the type of wedding and the bridal party composition and the brides' family kind of limit me to being somewhat reasonable about length but that's about the only limitation I can see about my dress as a guest.

Anyway, I have two weddings coming right up.  One is what promises to be a beautiful winter evening wedding at a Vermont Inn. I love the place anyway and it could be a Holiday Inn re-creation! Wouldn't that be lovely! The other wedding  is of a very good friend of mine and will be at a local hotel that specializes in receptions. I love this bride, she's one of my best friends,  so I want to look my best for her and really enjoy myself as well. (I always do!).

First let's look around for that dress for the Vermont Inn affair. Evening, close to New Year's, perhaps some snow, candlelight -  you get the picture.  Dreamy and romantic! OK off to the wedding shop at Nordstrom's first and then maybe to Sak's. OK - this dress looks like it could be the one for Vermont.  It's a JS Boutique Cutaway Shoulder Beaded Waist Gown with a cascade of gathered jersey shapes a Grecian-inspired gown with deep keyholes in the front and back. Tonal beads glam up the waist, while a center-front slit allows for ease of movement. In a rouge polyester/spandex.  Item # 196533 and priced at $158. Well Sig O will like that! But keep on looking.

Well, this is another pretty dress that fits the bill, I think.  At Nordstrom's a Sean Collection Beaded Chiffon Dress. The color is a rich chocolate, has an almost rougy tone. Shimmery beads adorn the V-neck and illusion inset of a gown, ruched through the bodice above a pleated skirt designed with three layers of chiffon. Really quite elegant and has a holiday look to it.  Nordstrom's item # 204986 and priced at $298.00  

Well finally, this is the one for Vermont. A Sean Collection Taffeta Dress with Crop Jacket in a deep teal. (Simple gorgeous color). Delicate ruffles and beads trim the collar and cuffs of a bolero, styled with shoulder pads for a structured effect. Dress features a flattering ruched waist above a full, tulle-lined skirt.  Nordstrom's item # 205242 and $306.00.Lovely!

Now my bud's hitching. She's a modern miss so I know I can go a little more cocktail-y. I think this lbd from Nordstrom's again.  This time it's  a Iisli 'Tiffany Wind' Sequined Dress with a square front and back neck, sequined, hand-trimmed bodice and straps and inset Empire waist. It's black cotton but the sequins make it nice and showy.

I'm all set! Ta da!
